If you’re a business owner, you will no-doubt know that it comes with numerous responsibilities and huge challenges. One of these challenges is marketing your business digitally. You constantly have to keep up with the latest trends and ever-changing technology. To increase awareness of your brand, having a strong online presence is vital to the success of your business.
To avoid the risk of lagging behind, staying up-to-date and keeping up with market demands is crucial. Digital marketing helps your business attract the right customers by using savvy strategies designed to promote your company through search engine rankings, social media pages, blogs, emails and websites.
Reading digital marketing blogs are a great way to learn how to advertise your business in the digital sphere. You get truly valuable tips on how to stay a step ahead of your competitors. These blogs make it easier for you to advertise your products and services to the relevant customers. You can get advice on how to become a better content writer, comprehensive views on effective SEO methods and general marketing strategies for modern businesses.
As a relatively new blogger, I am always on the lookout for inspiration for my writing or ideas on how to effectively market GeoTarget to a wider audience. Like many other bloggers, I too get writers block. It comes with the territory. When I find myself stuck for new blog ideas or how to better my content writing, there are a few influential bloggers that I turn to. This is my personal top 5 list for 2021.
#1 – Search Engine Land
Search Engine Land says they are “the world’s finest link building firm.” They are a daily publication and their blogs cover all aspects of digital marketing. Their articles are jam-packed with tips and tactics for running successful marketing campaigns. Their Google Algorithm Updates page is a great read if you want to rank higher in SERPS. There are industry trends, breaking stories and feature announcements that will have you coming back for more.
#2 – The Moz Blog
In their about section, The Moz Blog have this to say.” We know SEO. In fact, we wrote the blog on it.” Their blogs focus strongly on helping you master search engine optimisation and strategies on how to market your business online. They have a product page with tools designed to “Improve Search Rankings – Drive Traffic – Get Customers.” Check out “Mozlow’s hierarchy of SEO needs.” A pyramid explaining the way you should go about SEO.
#3 – HubSpot
Dharmesh Shah, CTO and founder of Hubspot has this to say: “Success is making those who believed in you look brilliant.” HubSpot are “inbound” marketing gurus that don’t believe in harassing or manipulating people with marketing. They instead entice you into becoming a customer. Their strategies include refraining from pop-up ads, spam emails and commercial advertising.
#4 – Neil Patel
I was first introduced to Neil Patel by Stephen Forster, CEO of GeoTarget. He believes that Neil’s approach to marketing is a sure-fire way to attract quality traffic to your website. Neil is a New York Times Bestselling author and a top influencer on the web. I read his blogs regularly and his Ubersuggest keyword tool is my go-to whenever I am stuck for keyword or content ideas. His blogs are easy reads and very informative. His tips and tricks are valuable for any digital marketer.
#5 – Copyblogger
I only recently came across Copyblogger while searching for some writing inspiration. Their blog topics spoke to what I was looking for in my search to become a great content writer. VentureBeat calls copyblogger “The bible of content marketing.” My attention was grabbed by topics such as: “22 Sure-Fire Headline Formulas That Work” and “3 Ways to Make Writing a Little Easier…without Lowering Your Standards” and “What Makes a Good Writer 6 Unique Traits” Copyblogger teaches you how to “do more with your writing.” Their mission is to “help you create the kind of audience-focused content that helps you reach your business goals.” I can see this fast becoming one of my favourite blogs.
In Conclusion
While my list is not based on how high these websites rank or how much of an audience they attract, they do contain relevant, useful and valuable information for digital marketers. These are blogs that I personally follow and find extremely informative as a digital marketer and content writer.
Until next time…..here is your quote of the day
“Don’t focus on having a great blog. Focus on producing a blog that’s great for your readers.”

founder of Copyblogger.
